Welcome to Henry Levine Design. I make custom furniture in Austin, Texas. I’ve spent decades collaborating with home and business owners, interior designers, architects, and curators, designing and installing custom furniture, tailor-made fine art, and sculpture pieces that marry form and function.
Each piece is built to unique specifications from traditional wood-shop techniques to CNC fabrication, laser-cutting, mold-making (plaster and silicone), soldering, welding, and incorporating unique finishes. Featured Projects
Interior Trees
Commissioned by Crowell Builders and envisioned by McWalters Collaborative, the inspiration for these trees came about as a design solution for obscuring existing drain pipes in the kitchen area of a downtown Austin
high-rise.
Kitchen Island & Dining Banquette
This project was designed in collaboration with Housemill Design by Lauren Ramirez, featuring upholstery by Modern Comfort and fabrication assistance from Blue Way. The goal was to integrate the existing kitchen into a cohesive and functional environment for cooking and entertaining. The prep/ breakfast counter is a butcher block made from American black walnut. The table base and banquette are made from American black walnut, slate Paperstone and spillproof fabrics. The table top is Texas pecan.
Resolution Eye Care Display Cases
These display cabinets and open shelving were designed and fabricated for Resolution Eye Care in Austin, TX. Materials used for this customer commercial project include rift-sawn white oak, melamine over plywood, and maple drawers with dovetail joinery.
Jade Walker
I have spent decades working in the arts community, including shipping and packing, museum installations, fine art framing, and fabrication services. Sometimes, I get to work with amazing and talented artists like Jade Walker, who envisioned some very unique crutches and needed some help with their fabrication.
